Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners. Cookies cannot harm your device and do not contain any personally identifiable information by themselves.

2. How We Use Cookies

DowntimeIQ uses cookies to keep you signed in to your account, remember your preferences, understand how you use our platform, and improve your experience. Without essential cookies, the platform cannot function correctly — for example, you would be signed out every time you navigate to a new page.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. These include authentication cookies that keep you signed in (provided by Supabase) and security cookies that protect against attacks. Functional cookies remember your preferences such as display settings and notification preferences. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use our platform so we can improve it — these are only set with your consent. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services that appear on our platform. Supabase sets cookies required for authentication and database access. Stripe sets cookies when you visit our pricing or billing pages to prevent fraud. These third parties have their own privacy policies and we recommend reviewing them. We do not control third-party cookies and they are governed by the respective third party's privacy policy.

5. Cookie Consent

When you first visit DowntimeIQ, we will ask for your consent to set non-essential cookies. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences individually. Essential cookies are always active as they are required for the platform to function. You can change your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie settings option in the footer of any page.

6. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways. You can use our cookie consent banner to set your preferences. You can also configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies — most browsers allow you to block cookies entirely, block third-party cookies only, or delete cookies when you close the browser. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to your account. The steps to manage cookies vary by browser — please refer to your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.

7. Cookie Retention

Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. Authentication cookies from Supabase typically persist for 7 days to keep you signed in. Preference cookies persist for up to 12 months. Analytics cookies, if accepted, persist for up to 13 months in line with industry standards.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a Do Not Track feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. We currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals as there is no consistent industry standard for compliance. However, we only use analytics cookies with your explicit consent and we do not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our data practices. When we make significant changes we will notify you through the platform or by email. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

10. Contact Us

If you have questions about our use of cookies or this Cookie Policy, please contact us through the support page in your dashboard or via the contact form on our website.
